NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. —
A judge set bond Thursday afternoon for a man Charleston International Airport Police arrested after officers responded to a report of a fight on a plane during which a man’s ear was allegedly bitten off.

Police say John Yurkovich, 45, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine based on the total weight of a white crystal substance found in his pocket, the report states.

In court, Yurkovich disputed the meth charge.

“It’s not what they say it is. That’s a special kind of ... it’s a cat tranquilizer actually. It’s not what they’re saying it is,” Yurkovich said.
